Join us every Saturday from 11 AM – 5 PM at the YZD Plaza and Experience Centre for free family-friendly events, hands-on workshops, and interactive pop-ups.
This July, Summer Saturdays go green with a series of nature-inspired workshops focused on sustainability, creativity, and environmental connection. Each session offers a unique opportunity for kids and families to get their hands dirty—literally!—while learning about pollinators, native plants, and local wildlife.
Workshop Schedule:
July 5 - Seed Bombs: Get messy with soil, clay, and native seeds as you make seed bombs—tiny tools for big impact. Designed to support pollinators and native wildflowers, these handmade seed packets help bring nature back into our urban spaces.
July 12 - Biodegradable Planters: Craft your own eco-friendly planter using recycled materials. These plastic-free pots are perfect for sprouting new life—and a great introduction to sustainable gardening.
July 19 - Birdhouse Making: Using wood and simple tools, build a cozy birdhouse that’s safe for local cavity-nesting birds. Take it home and welcome some feathered friends to your backyard!
July 26 & July 27 - Biodegradable Birdfeeders: Construct a DIY birdfeeder from natural materials like pinecones and oranges. These disposable feeders are as fun to make as they are good for the environment.
