Italian Artist based in Sydney Eleonora Tonnarelli is an Italian artist currently based in Sydney, known for her bold oil portraits that explore the raw, unfiltered dimensions of human emotion and identity. Her work invites viewers — and ourselves — to let go of the masks we wear in everyday life, embracing vulnerability, emotion, and the pursuit of our deepest passions beyond societal expectations. Working spontaneously, Tonnarelli applies oil paint directly onto the canvas using silicone spatulas. Her expressive use of colour and gesture captures the emotional energy that defines each piece. Through her practice, she encourages authenticity, self-discovery, and the freedom to express rather than suppress our emotional truths.
