Grab your picnic blanket, pack some snacks, and bring your friends and family along for an evening of entertainment. Don't miss out on this unique experience - see you there!
Pack your picnic, grab your family and friends, and let Lakespeare’s very fine ‘Shrew crew’ entertain you (and maybe steal a few of your olives) as Canberra comes together for a battle of wits and biting satire with another summer season of open-air Shakespeare.
Shakespeare’s infamous battle of the sexes gets turned on its head in this bold and energetic version of The Taming of the Shrew, directed by Karen Vickery.
Inspired by a concept by The Playwrought Project (recently performed at Sydney’s Wharf Theatre), this is a world where women do the taming. With suitors lining up for a chance to woo the agreeable Bianco, their mother declares there will be no marriage until the older hot-headed Christopher (Kit) is wed first. The limits of love are tested, and satire and mischief abound, as the cunning Petruchia takes on the daunting task of courting this sharp-tongued ‘shrew’.
How to get there?
