We hope you will join us for the Artist's Reception of Aaron Coberly and Jesse Hitchens.
Aaron Coberly's exhibition, "Northwest Views" explores the journey rather then the destination. Each location he paints is more then a pretty picture, but a careful process of breaking the scene down to recreate it into his vision. Aaron states "I feel sometimes I have to lose myself in order to get a better understanding of where I am going. It can be a scary process but without it I don't feel that I can grow as an artist".
Jesse Hitchen's "UN / Civilization" explores nature scenes and city scenes. Jesse Hitchens' goal in painting is to create a feeling of memory, the experience we have in a certain place and time. Memories aren't always clear and focused. The memory of climbing high in the Cascades is quite different than walking the city streets at night, thus the painting needs to evoke different emotions. One of Jesse's favorite things to do in painting is to leave room for interpretation to the viewer. Is it dark and ominous or full of hidden beauty and mystery?
Feel free to browse their new work and ask the artists questions while enjoying some complimentary wine, cheese and crackers. You are also free to explore the rest of the gallery and speak to the owners, Ron and Sue, who will also be in attendance.
