Sub Club is back. This is the place to be if you want to talk about which magazines and journals could be the best homes for your poems.
We sample and compare a range of poetry magazines and journals, in print and online, using Manchester Poetry Library’s resources at Manchester Metropolitan University, aiming to explore what each one is ‘up to’. Sessions are discussion-based, collaborative and supportive. We select magazines open for submissions at the time, fitting the group’s interests. Handouts and insider tips from editors provided. Whether you’re thinking about submitting for the first time, want to beef up your track record or you’d just like to meet up with fellow travelers across the poetry cosmos, Sub Club is open to all. Come have your say!
Facilitated by poet and tutor, Susie Wilson, a Manchester Met Poetry MA graduate from Sheffield and winner of the Disabled Poets Prize 2024 for Nowhere Near As Safe As A Snake In Bed. Current work in Acumen, Carmen et Error, Ink Sweat and Tears, Northern Gravy, Propel: www.susiewilsonpoet.com .
