Volunteers will help maintain critical habitat by removing invasive plants such as blackberry or ivy, planting native plants, and pitching-in with other tasks like mulching and weeding. In fall/winter we may also be planting native plants. With your help, this park with have healthy and thriving natural areas for years to come!
All experience levels and ages are welcome following the safety and event guidelines (see below). Tools and training are provided. Events are 100% outdoors and occur rain or shine*!

Meeting Location, Parking & Facilities:
Street and park parking is available in and around Heritage Park. Please be respectful of neighbors and obey all posted signage. Carpooling, walking, biking, or busing to the site is always welcome! Visit KC Metro trip planner to plan your bus trip.
There is no restroom facility at this site.

The completed Youth & Individual Service Agreement form should be presented to the Kirkland Parks crew hosting the event—hard copy or proof of electronic submission is acceptable.

*Weather
Events are generally rain or shine. Cancellations can occur due to unsafe weather including excessive heat or cold, high winds, storms or poor air quality. Participants will be notified via email and/or onsite signage.
*Stinging Insects:
All of Green Kirkland's restoration sites are in natural areas, and stinging insects such as wasps may be active, especially from May - October. Though we do our best to check sites prior to events for any hazards, volunteers may encounter stinging insects. Please take proper precautions if you know you're allergic (carry an anaphylaxis kit issued by your doctor) and alert your event host of any concerns.
