Bamboo to Brass: Sonic Journeys Across the Philippines Throughout October, House of Gongs in collaboration with Elle Karayan fashion house presents Bamboo to Brass: Sonic Journeys Across the Philippines. This glass case exhibit at Capitol Modern highlights a wide array of instruments from across the archipelago, each paired with the stories and traditions that give them life. From the bamboo instruments of the northern highlands to the brass gongs of the southern islands, the collection reveals the sonic threads that connect Filipino cultures across geography and time. Visitors are invited to embark on a resonant journey through sound, culture, and creativity—an exploration of how instruments carry memory, identity, and rhythm across generations. This exhibit is presented by House of Gongs with the support of the following community partners: Capitol Modern Hawaii State Art Museum State Foundation of Culture and Arts Office of Rep.
