Join SoulFire Movement every Thursday on The Greenway for Dance Sweat Meditate — a high-energy, soul-refreshing wellness experience that fuses global dance, mindful fitness, and guided meditation.

Led by Michelle Turner-Young, founder of SoulFire Movement and Boston community pioneer, this class is all about turning up the energy while turning inward. Expect a diverse playlist featuring Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, Soca, R&B, Salsa, and high-vibration conscious music as we move through a powerful dance workout, a mindful stretch, and a chakra-inspired color meditation.

📅 Dates: Every Thursday from May 22 – July 24, 2025 (Rain date July 31)
🕕 Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 Location: Fort Point Channel, Boston (between Congress St and Pearl St)
🚫 NOTE: No class on June 19, 2025 in honor of Juneteenth.

What to Bring:
✔ Comfy workout shoes
✔ Yoga mat or blanket
✔ Towel
✔ Water bottle
✔ A meditative tool (photo, crystal, oil, or tea — optional)

What to Expect:

  • 45 minutes of full-body, high-energy dance
  • A yoga-inspired stretch session to release tension
  • A guided chakra color meditation to recharge your spirit
    Each week highlights one of the chakras—your “wheels of light”—through movement and mindfulness.

About SoulFire Movement:
SoulFire Movement is an emotional wellness practice through dance, using movement as a powerful tool to connect with the body, spirit, and community. Think Zumba meets Zen with a touch of global flavor.

About Your Instructor – Michelle Turner-Young:
Michelle is a Dorchester native, mother, dancer, and the first American International Dancehall Queen. With over 18 years of dance and fitness experience, she founded SoulFire Movement to bring empowerment, joy, and healing to her community. Her work has been recognized by NEFA, The Esplanade Association, and institutions across Boston.

This class is part of the 2025 Greenway Fitness Season, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
