This exciting event will support educational settings (Early Years, Schools and Colleges) to develop and implement climate action plans. It will provide practical support from a number of key national initiatives – including Climate Ambassadors, National Education Nature Park, Sustainability Support for Education and Let’s Go Zero – to highlight how your setting can make progress with climate action planning, wherever you are in your sustainability journey.
As part of the support around Climate Education, there will be a strong emphasis on Carbon Literacy (including Carbon Literacy taster workshops), working towards ‘Manchester Carbon Literate City’ and Greater Manchester strategic priorities. There will be further opportunities to complete Carbon Literacy training, and gain Carbon Literacy Educator accreditation.
👉 Don’t know anything about, or are just starting out with climate action planning? This event will help you get started.
👉 Already got a plan? We’ll help you build on it.
There will be plenty of opportunity to share experiences and ideas with other settings, to get advice and input from a range of skilled people and organisations, and to identify practical steps your setting can take to turn your climate ambitions into action.
This event is hosted by Manchester Metropolitan as part of the Department for Education-funded Climate Ambassadors programme. The event is being run in partnership with The Carbon Literacy Project, National Education Nature Park, Let's Go Zero, and Sustainability Support for Education, and supported by Manchester City Council and others.
The event is primarily for Education Settings: Early Years Foundation Stage, Primary and Secondary Schools, and FE Colleges - priority will be given to these.
Please also note that, given the current interest in this area, and our wish to make this event as inclusive as possible, we are limiting places to 2 tickets per education setting / organisation. If you have any questions about the event, please contact: climateambassadors_nw@mmu.ac.uk
